Denmark, Sweden & Norway: Exploring Innovation, Economic Systems, and Global Markets
This 12-day faculty-led tour explores how Nordic countries balance innovation, public policy, and global competitiveness. With site visits to financial institutions, multinational companies, policy think tanks, and sustainability hubs, students gain firsthand insight into how Scandinavian economies operate at the intersection of free markets and social responsibility.
Designed for faculty in business, economics, finance, and public policy, this program is credit-bearing and built to complement classroom learning with direct exposure to leading global economic systems.

Copenhagen Business School
Day 1 – Arrival in Copenhagen
Arrival at Copenhagen Airport and private transfer to city-center accommodation. Evening walking orientation along Nyhavn and group welcome dinner.
Day 3 – Circular Economy & Local Enterprise
Explore how Danish companies are implementing circular economy models through a site visit to a sustainable design firm. Enjoy a group lunch at Reffen, Copenhagen’s creative street food market and largest area for urban start-ups, followed by optional time at Tivoli Gardens.
Day 5 – Train to Stockholm
Take a scenic train journey to Stockholm. Upon arrival, settle into your accommodation and explore the city with a walk through Gamla Stan. Dinner with views of the harbor.
Day 7 – Markets, Food Culture & Island Exploration
Guided visit to Östermalms Saluhall, exploring Swedish consumer habits, food culture, and the economics of urban markets. In the afternoon, take a ferry to Djurgården for free time at the Vasa Museum, Skansen open-air museum, or a walk through the Royal Gardens.
Day 9 – Business Strategy in Oslo
Take part in a walking tour exploring Oslo’s innovation districts, and waterfront redevelopment projects. Learn how the city attracts investment, supports sustainable growth, and integrates business development into its urban planning
Day 11 – Hike & Taste of Local Cuisine
Hike to one of Oslo’s scenic overlooks ( Vettakollen or Grefsenkollen) for panoramic views of the city and fjord. End the day with a group dinner featuring traditional Norwegian cuisine.
Day 2 – Green Innovation & Startups
Begin with a visit to a green-tech incubator where students will engage with entrepreneurs focused on sustainability and innovation. In the afternoon, explore the city’s commitment to clean energy and infrastructure with a guided Smart City talk and canal tour.
Day 4 – Copenhagen Business School
Campus visit and roundtable with faculty on innovation and the Danish economy. Evening at leisure or local group dinner.
Day 6 – Global Business
Tour the headquarters of Spotify or IKEA to learn about global branding and Nordic leadership. Free evening to explore the waterfront.
Day 8 – Train to Oslo
Travel through Swedish countryside en route to Oslo. Upon arrival, enjoy a relaxed group dinner or explore Oslo’s vibrant Aker Brygge waterfront.
Day 10 – Innovation Hubs
Visit leading Oslo startups such as Kahoot!, Tibber, or No Isolation to explore business models focused on tech, sustainability, and social impact. In the afternoon, explore Grünerløkka, Oslo’s creative district, or walk to Ekebergparken for art and views.
Day 12 – Departure
Transfer to Oslo Airport for return flights to the U.S.

Below are key details about the Scandinavia Business & Economics program, including duration, recommended travel periods, academic focus areas, and a summary of what is – and isn’t – included. This section is intended to help faculty evaluate how the tour aligns with course objectives, credit requirements, and academic scheduling.
- 11 nights of accommodation in well-rated 3-star hotels
- Shared rooms for students; private or twin rooms for faculty (based on availability)
- Daily breakfast provided at each hotel
- 3 group lunches or casual meals included during the program
- English-speaking tour leader present throughout the entire tour
- Private 28-seater coach for scheduled group transfers and site visits (supplemented by local public transport when needed)
- Intercity train tickets between Copenhagen, Stockholm, and Oslo
- Academic visits to business schools, companies, and public institutions as outlined in the itinerary
- Guided cultural walking tours in key cities
